From 30 June to 17 July 2020, the 44th UN Human Rights Council session gathered in Geneva, addressing a wide range of thematic and country specific human rights issues and situations. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the session was held in hybrid form, where a total of 23 resolutions were adopted....

Hungary rebutted the criticism by the Special Rapporteur on Migration in the Human Rights Council. We presented the facts regarding the transit zones and the legislative framework aimed at addressing the crisis situation due to mass migration. It was also a good opportunity to highlight that the Hungarian Criminal Code has been providing for several criminal offences to fight hate crimes – including incitement against a community and violence against a member of a community. read the full statement for further details below....

Hungary confirmed its commitment in the Human Rights Council to eliminate all forms of discrimination against women and girls. We also presented good practices to promote women’s economic empowerment, like the „Women in Family and at Workplace” initiative, the network of „Family and Career Points” and the „Family Friendly Work Place Award”.
