This year’s World Intellectual Property Day (26 April) is about “Innovate for a Green Future”. This theme is of extreme relevance for Hungary, since the implementation of the Sustainable development Goals, and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change are an outstanding priority for the Government of Hungary.

The Ministry for innovation and Technology has elaborated the Climate and Nature Protection Action Plan of Hungary that was adopted this year. The aim of this Action plan is to make Hungary a climate-neutral country by 2050. Innovation is indispensable for this aim, because renewable energy, energy efficiency, green transportation all require innovative solutions. Protection of intellectual property rights of these innovative solutions determine their use in society.

On World IP Day in 2020 we celebrate those inspiring inventors and creators around the world who are betting on a green future.
