Budapest the Brain City

The poster to be used worldwide to celebrate World Standards Day on 14 October 2017, with the theme “Standards make cities smarter” uses Budapest as inspiration to “a combination of interwoven lines in the brain as a recognizable symbol of intelligence, and a dense city map”.

More than a hundred posters were submitted this year, of which the design of Reza Rahiminian was selected. An art director and advertising consultant, Rahimian was researching an element to represent intelligence (the brain) which he could combine with city symbols in order to come up with a catchy design that would illustrate the 2017 World Standards Day theme “Standards make cities smarter”.

Hungary applauds the choice of this year’s theme and commends the organizers for looking for the most inspired, creative illustration of how International Standards contribute to making cities smarter. We are committed to promote technological innovation and sustainable development in Hungary as well as around the world through the work of relevant international organizations; therefore, we are happy that Budapest serves as the illustration of creativity and smart cities.
